Unshadowed, Uncolored

A droplet clings to her lips—

red melts into orange,

orange thins to yellow,

yellow surrenders to green.

Her sigh moves—

like blue mist,

tumbling into my mouth.

Violet beats at her wrist—

a vein-kiss the color of dusk’s first edge.

Black gathers in her eyes,

a collapse of every hue.

I fall, unshadowed, uncolored.
