Our Summer Confluence

The mountains have loaned us their tears for the rain's brief cascade,

I open to the cold stream's mountain silver—entering,

Heron perched above discovers our secrets, his welcome overstayed,

The lake's amber hum circles where cold becomes warm—eddying.

I open to the cold stream's mountain silver—entering,

Her skin is the violet hour between glass and sunset—shimmering,

The lake's amber hum circles where cold becomes warm—eddying,

Turtles surface, fish brush the inside of my thighs—quivering.

Her skin is the violet hour between glass and sunset—shimmering,

They find the mountain's cool before the rain forgets this place, they stay for the warmth we make,

Turtles surface, fish brush the inside of my thighs—quivering,

I open my pores before the current surrenders to the lake.

They find the mountain's cool before the rain forgets this place, they stay for the warmth we make,

The mountains have loaned us their tears for the rain's brief cascade,

I open my pores before the current surrenders to the lake,

Heron perched above discovers our secrets, his welcome overstayed.
